Product Description

Farrow & Ball Skimming Stone No.241 is a stony off white that takes its name from a 19th century skim, or plaster colour. With its warm light grey undertones it is extremely versatile and particularly suited to soothing bedroom schemes.

One of the brand's Contemporary Neutrals, Skimming Stone sits with the lighter Strong White and darker Elephant's Breath for a clean and contemporary look, but can also be used in a darker statement scheme alongside Pelt or London Clay. Strong White is its complementary white.

Is Skimming Stone grey or beige?

Skimming Stone sits between the two. Farrow & Ball call it a warm light grey and a stony off white, and its warm light grey undertones sit it between grey and beige. It belongs to the Contemporary Neutrals, a group whose greys carry a subtle lilac undertone.

Where to use Farrow & Ball Skimming Stone No.241

Farrow & Ball single out Skimming Stone as particularly suited to soothing bedroom schemes, and describe it as extremely versatile. Use it with the lighter Strong White and darker Elephant's Breath for a clean, contemporary look, or with Pelt or London Clay for a darker statement scheme.

Choose Estate Emulsion or Modern Emulsion for walls and ceilings, Dead Flat for a completely flat look across walls and woodwork, or Flat Eggshell and Modern Eggshell for durable, scrubbable woodwork and cabinets. For exteriors, choose Exterior Masonry or Exterior Eggshell for breathable, weather-resistant performance.
