Product Description

Farrow & Ball Pelt No.254 is a deep, luxurious purple with a regal feel, taking its name from untreated animal hides. It comes from Farrow & Ball's Archive and is made to order.

Farrow & Ball pair Pelt with Skimming Stone as its complementary colour, and list it as an accent colour for their Contemporary Neutrals. Their suggested schemes combine it with Dove Tale and Charleston Gray, Great White and Middleton Pink, or Calluna and Brassica.

Is Pelt purple or black?

Pelt is a deep purple, but Farrow & Ball say it can look almost black in darker spaces. They describe it as much bluer in feel than the similarly strong Brinjal.

Where to use Farrow & Ball Pelt No.254

Farrow & Ball find Pelt particularly sensational in Full Gloss. Pair it with Brassica for a dark, moody scheme, or soften it with Middleton Pink and Great White.

Choose Estate Emulsion or Modern Emulsion for walls and ceilings, Dead Flat for a completely flat look across walls and woodwork, and Flat Eggshell, Modern Eggshell or Full Gloss for woodwork and cabinets. For exteriors, choose Exterior Masonry or Exterior Eggshell for breathable, weather-resistant performance. Casein Distemper is also available in this colour.
