Product Description

Farrow & Ball Selvedge No.306 is a laid-back blue, lighter and less grey than the popular De Nimes. It is named after selvedge denim, the prized cloth woven on a shuttle loom to give closed edges.

Farrow & Ball pair Selvedge with Shadow White as its complementary white, and list it as an accent colour for their Timeless Neutrals. Their suggested schemes combine it with Shaded White and Worsted, Shadow White and School House White, or Inchyra Blue and De Nimes.

What is the difference between Farrow & Ball Selvedge and De Nimes?

Farrow & Ball describe Selvedge as a lighter, less grey version of De Nimes.

Where to use Farrow & Ball Selvedge No.306

Farrow & Ball say Selvedge is particularly good in low-light spaces, where it creates a familiar, friendly atmosphere. That makes it suited to bedrooms or rooms you spend time in during the evening, and it pairs well with darker accents such as Inchyra Blue or Hopper Head.

Choose Estate Emulsion or Modern Emulsion for walls and ceilings, Dead Flat for a completely flat look across walls and woodwork, and Flat Eggshell, Modern Eggshell or Full Gloss for woodwork and cabinets. For exteriors, choose Exterior Eggshell for breathable, weather-resistant performance. Casein Distemper is also available in this colour.
