Farrow & Ball Off-Black No.57 is a soft black and one of the original Farrow & Ball colours, a well loved classic with a deliberately simple name. Milder in tone than stronger blacks, it is much kinder to the colours around it.

Farrow & Ball pair Off-Black with Blackened as its complementary white. Their suggested schemes combine it with Eating Room Red and Brinjal, Nancy's Blushes and Stone Blue, or All White and Blackened.

Is Off-Black a true black?

Farrow & Ball describe Off-Black as a soft black. It feels much milder in tone than stronger blacks and has less of the cool blue undertone found in Railings or Black Blue.
