Product Description

Farrow & Ball French Gray No.18 is a soothing green grey that Farrow & Ball describe as far more green than grey, although it shifts between the two with the light and the time of day. Inspired by French decoration and wallpapers of the 19th century, it makes for a very relaxed room.

Farrow & Ball pair French Gray with Slipper Satin as its complementary white. Their suggested schemes combine it with Lime White and Slipper Satin, Off-White and Eddy, or Mouse's Back and Treron.

Is French Gray green or grey?

Farrow & Ball say French Gray is much more green than grey, but it moves between the two depending on the light and the time of day.

Where to use Farrow & Ball French Gray No.18

Farrow & Ball recommend French Gray for exterior woodwork, and it is a particular favourite of theirs for front doors in their low sheen Exterior Eggshell. It also suits garden furniture, where it sits comfortably among the greenery.

Choose Estate Emulsion or Modern Emulsion for walls and ceilings, Dead Flat for a completely flat look across walls and woodwork, and Flat Eggshell, Modern Eggshell or Full Gloss for woodwork and cabinets. For exteriors, choose Exterior Masonry or Exterior Eggshell for breathable, weather-resistant performance. Casein Distemper and Limewash are also available in this colour.
