Training at Rabart Spray Centre Cwmbran

Our purpose-built training facilities

Whether you are new to spraying, already using spray equipment, or simply need a refresher on your machine, our purpose-built training facilities in Cwmbran are here to help.

Based at our Graco-authorised service and repair centre, Rabart Spray Centre offers practical, decorator-focused spray training designed to build confidence, reduce downtime and help you get better results on site.

We offer three training options:
• Introduction to Spray
• Toolbox Talk
• Machine Run-Through

So whatever stage you are at in your spraying journey, we can help you move forward with confidence.

Introduction to Spray Training

Our Introduction to Spray course is ideal for decorators who want to understand the difference between airless and HVLP spraying, choose the right equipment and feel more confident before using spray machines on site.

The course combines classroom learning, practical sessions and a knowledge check. It covers how each spray system works, where it performs best, which materials it suits and how to select the right machine for different decorating jobs.

You will learn why airless spraying is best suited to larger areas such as walls, ceilings, exteriors and new-build work, while HVLP is better suited to fine-finish applications including trim, doors, cabinets, furniture and detailed woodwork.
By the end of the session, you will have a clearer understanding of spray systems, machine selection and the practical considerations needed to get started properly.
The training cost is £100 plus VAT per person and must be paid in advance.
If you purchase a sprayer from Rabart Decorating Centres within three months of your training date, you will receive £50 plus VAT off your sprayer purchase.
Delegates receive a training certificate at the end of the session.

Toolbox Talk Training

Our Toolbox Talk session is designed for decorators who already use spray equipment and want fewer stoppages, better spray results and more confidence with basic maintenance.

This practical session covers routine checks, common faults, safe troubleshooting and simple repairs that can be carried out on site.

You will learn how to identify issues caused by worn components, blocked filters, dirty strainers, pressure loss, poor cleaning and incorrect set-up.
The session also explains when to stop and refer the machine for professional servicing, particularly where faults involve pressure control, electrics, motors or repeated performance issues. In other words, we will help you know when to fix it, and when to stop poking it with hope.
By the end of the course, you will have a clearer understanding of how to look after your sprayer, diagnose common problems and avoid unnecessary downtime.

The training cost is £100 plus VAT per person and must be paid in advance.
If you book a service or repair with Rabart Decorating Centres within three months of your training date, you will receive £50 plus VAT off your service or repair.
Delegates receive a training certificate at the end of the session.

Machine Run-Through Session

Our Machine Run-Through session is ideal for customers who have recently purchased a sprayer or need a refresher on a machine they have not used for a while.

The session lasts approximately two hours and is designed to give you confidence with the basic operation, set-up and care of your sprayer.

The exact content will vary depending on the type of machine, but usually includes:
• Assembling the sprayer
• Setting up the sprayer correctly
• Using the sprayer safely and effectively
• Cleaning down after use
• Basic care and storage advice

The cost is £50 plus VAT per person and must be paid in advance. This session is ideal if you want to get familiar with your machine before using it on site, or if it has been sitting in the van for a while looking at you like it knows something you don’t.
