Little Greene's Distemper is a traditional, breathable interior paint designed specifically for use in period properties and buildings with historic character. Renowned for its soft, powdery aesthetic, Distemper offers a beautiful chalky matt finish with a gloss level of less than 5%, ideal for creating a timeless look in bedrooms, sitting rooms, dining areas, and other low-traffic interiors. It is particularly well-suited for walls, ceilings, and fine plasterwork where subtle texture and depth are desired.
This water-based paint is environmentally friendly and low in odour, offering a high-opacity finish that has been specially formulated to be wipeable—making it more practical than traditional distemper alternatives. However, it is not recommended for use in high-traffic areas or spaces prone to moisture, such as kitchens or bathrooms, due to its limited durability against water and condensation. For best results, Little Greene Distemper should be applied and used within 14 days of purchase.
