Farrow & Ball - Treron (292)
This enduring colour is a dark green version of Farrow & Ball classic Pigeon, hence being named after the green variety of the same species. Although traditional in feel, Treron is perfect for modern homes where lots of natural materials are used or as an accent for both French Gray and our Traditional Neutrals.
Treron
Treron 292 is a rich, dark green with strong grey undertones, giving it a sophisticated, muted character. It’s often described as a “dark grey green” and serves as a deeper, more grounded alternative to Farrow & Ball’s classic Pigeon.
The name “Treron” refers to a genus of green‑breasted pigeons—an apt reference, given how this shade relates to Pigeon but shifts more into verdant territory. Its versatility makes it suitable for both traditional and contemporary interiors: it works beautifully alongside natural materials like wood, or as an accent against the more neutral tones in the French Gray and Traditional Neutrals palettes.
From a design perspective, Treron is ideal for rooms where you want a strong but soothing presence. Because of its dark, muted green tone, it can create a calming, enveloping atmosphere in living rooms, studies or panelling. It pairs especially well with a complementary white such as Off‑White, which helps to offset the depth of the green without introducing too much contrast.
Treron (292) is a refined, timeless green that balances moodiness with elegance. It’s deep enough to ground a palette, but subtle enough to remain versatile and calming.
