Farrow & Ball - Slipper Satin (2004)
Slipper Satin takes its name from the delicate colour of the silk used in traditional ballet slippers and is a popular white which can be used as a perfect neutral on walls with darker Off-White woodwork, or as a trim colour for the majority of the Farrow & Ball palette. It appears as a soft grey stone colour with no cool blue tones.
Slipper Satin
Farrow & Ball's Slipper Satin is a delicate, off-white shade with subtle warm undertones, creating an inviting and serene atmosphere in any interior. Named after the delicate colour of luxurious satin slippers, this versatile hue is part of Farrow & Ball's "Traditional Neutrals" collection. Slipper Satin offers a timeless, understated elegance, making it a popular choice for various design styles, from classic to contemporary.
Slipper Satin is particularly effective in spaces where you want to create a light and airy feel without the starkness of a pure white. Its warm undertones add a touch of softness, making it perfect for bedrooms, living rooms, and kitchens. The shade pairs well with both cool and warm colours, providing a neutral backdrop that enhances the beauty of other design elements. It works harmoniously with natural materials like wood and stone, as well as with crisp whites and deeper accent colours.
Colour Schemes
Farrow & Ball's colour card includes a large range of gentle neutrals with matching bold accents. This makes it very easy for anyone to choose a colour scheme for their home.
Wimborne White and Pointing
Wimborne White: This just off white is named after the market town of Wimborne in Dorset and home to Farrow & Ball. Only a shade away from a pure white, the addition of the smallest amount of warm yellow pigment creates a very versatile shade which is just a little softer than All White.
Pointing:This fresh and uncomplicated white is named after the colour of lime pointing used in traditional brickwork. One of Farrow & Ball's Red Based Neutrals, Pointing has a warm undertone to it which creates the prettiest of spaces when used on walls and always softens the feel of a room alongside strong, traditional colours.
Off White and Old White
Off White: This mid tone off white is one of the original Farrow & Ball colours - an uncomplicated name for a timeless classic. Off-White sits within Farrow & Ball's Traditional Neutrals so works perfectly with Old White, Slipper Satin and Lime White.
Old White: This soft grey green simply earns its name by being the most historic of all Farrow & Ball's whites. One of their Traditional Neutrals, Old White can read as a subdued green, particularly in north facing rooms, but feels more of a classic grey in well lit spaces.
Light Gray and Mouse's Back
Light Gray: A stony neutral, this traditional grey green was originally used as a colour name in the 9th century - an ancient name for a timeless colour. The subtle green base of Darrow & Ball's Light Gray brings an unsurpassed depth of colour when used on walls.
Mouse's Back: This grey brown classic takes its characterful name from the fawny colour of the British field mouse. Much like its namesake, the green based Mouse’s Back is quiet in nature and feels soft in rooms both large and small.
