- Works with SmartControl on select Graco sprayers.
Built for professionals (and built to last):
Compatible with any airless sprayer:
- Fits RAC X guards and works across most airless set-ups.
Secure, easy-to-use design:
- Locking tab keeps the tip secure in the guard.
- Snaps positively into spray or reverse position.
- OneSeal gasket installs with no tools.
- Solvent seal available for extremely hot solvents.
Easy to identify:
- Tip size is laser engraved in two places, so it stays readable—even when covered in paint.
Choosing the right airless tip (it matters more than you think):
The spray tip affects your finish quality, speed and profit margin as much as any other part of the sprayer. The right tip can:
- Reduce overspray and paint usage.
- Improve control and finish quality.
- Cut time on the job.
- Reduce strain on your sprayer and pump.
How airless tips work (simple explanation):
An airless sprayer pressurises paint (without air) and forces it through the tip’s tiny orifice. The tip then creates the fan width and controls the flow rate, similar to putting your thumb over the end of a garden hose.
- The pump produces: pressure + flow.
- The tip defines: fan angle + paint volume.
Understanding tip numbers (fan width + orifice):
Fan width (first number):
The first digit is the spray angle. At roughly 12 inches from the surface, fan width is approximately:
Angle number × 2 = fan width in inches.
Example: 5 = 50° ? 10 inch fan width.
Orifice size (last two digits):
The last two digits show the hole size in thousandths of an inch.
Example: 17 = 0.017” (0.43 mm).
Higher pressure = more flow; heavier paint = less flow.
Important: don’t exceed your sprayer’s maximum tip size:
Every sprayer has a maximum output. Always check your machine’s recommended maximum tip size before choosing an orifice.
Tip wear costs more than you think:
Spray tips wear over time, mainly due to working pressure and abrasive coatings. Using a worn tip is like drilling with a blunt drill bit: it takes longer, works harder, wastes material and gives a worse result.
A worn tip can also push your sprayer beyond its output limits and end up costing far more than replacing the tip (extra paint + extra labour).
