Understanding tip numbers (simple rule):

Tip sizes are shown as three digits (e.g., 517).

• First digit = fan width at ~10-12 inches from the surface:
  • Multiply it by 2 to get fan width in inches.
  • Example: 5 ? 10 inch fan.
• Last two digits = orifice size in thousandths of an inch:
  • Example: 17 ? 0.017" (? 0.43 mm).

Two critical checks before you spray:
